HI didn't write up a fan report of Jin's Yellow Gold Tour NYC concert from 2010, so I figured that I would write one for the experience this time around, especially since it was such a once-in-a-lifetime event. Jin will always be my first Johnny's love (11+ years of being a fan!), and he holds a very dear place in my heart -- I can't believe I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to meet him! :D

I didn't get home until Sunday evening, which explains why I'm writing this so late (you know how it is when you've got school and work). But hey...better late than never, right?

**ALL PHOTOS TAKEN BY ME.**

Concert General Impressions: Japonicana was definitely more low-key than Yellow Gold was, and I think it was a due to a combination of factors: ticket price, timing (THURSDAY, anyone?), it being his second tour, etc. It was a bit short as well; I was expecting a 2ish-hour concert like how YG was, but this one ended up being barely 1.5 hours with a 15-minute intermission. Jin's backdancers were AWESOME, but they didn't seem as embedded into the show/tour as the crew from YG was. In YG you were introduced to everyone and they were very much incorporated into the feel and "story" of the concert. This time they were pretty much awesome accessories...which is totally okay, but it's just something that stood out.

Now onto the details!

...MAKE LOVE UNTIL THE SUN BURNS DOWN! )

I am so honored to have had the opportunity to meet Jin; I hope he does something like this again and that he comes to DC sometime! I would definitely do it all over again...and again and again. :D They're going to be mailing the photos to us so it may take awhile before I get mine (considering it's going to be sent to my sister first). When I do get it, I'll post a scan!

Thank you, readers, for making your way through this extremely rambly and long-winded report! Let me know if you want to know anything specific about my experience or whatnot. Wish you guys were there with me. <3

Hello everyone! I am heading up to NYC later today, so I don't know if I'll have the chance to post tomorrow -- which means I'm posting this very special post today! Why is this post special you may ask?
It's my birthday (August 13)! :D
...and I would like to use the occasion to share some scans with you all. So please help yourself and do enjoy the scans. I'm wishing everyone a very happy weekend and if you get the chance, eat some cake on my behalf! ♥

**If you take these scans out, please do your best to remember to credit me. Thank you!

Happy Summer, everyone! It's been way too long since I've posted here, I know...but hopefully that will change soon. I feel like this is the first weekend in AGES that I've been home for (so much traveling and fun stuff going on I don't know what to do with myself)! Good news is that I've gotten into the scanning groove again, and thus, be prepared for some pretty goodies!

**If possible, please credit if taking out! Thanks very much; I really appreciate it!

Feel free to grab the scans individually (just click on them) or use the MF link at the end of this post. :D

Apparently when I'm bored I scan random things for the heck of it...and since shop photos are a super easy thing to scan, I guess that's the first thing I go to in order to get my scanning fix. :D

Since [info]mikarocker oh so graciously tagged me with this, I feel like it could be fun to fill out -- you'll definitely know what I've been up to for the last hour or so after going through this. Oh man. :D

A) People who have been tagged must write their answers on their journal and replace any question that they dislike with a new, original question.

B) Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag who tagged you.
I have no friends to tag..at least no one who hasn't been tagged already. So, I give up. If you want to go ahead and do it for yourself, then I tag you! YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU, and YOU!!

1. Make a list of 5 things that are in reach:

Cell phone, Nintendo DS, iPod touch/speakers, pencil case, stack of engineering paper.

2. What is your favorite holiday?
I have two! Christmas and Chinese New Year. :D

3. What is one item of clothing you wish you could always wear?
Tshirts...I wish they were appropriate for everything. SADNESS.

4. What's your occupation?
Engineering student and research assistant.

5. What do you hear right now?
Akanishi Jin's Murasaki from my iPod, the hum from my laptop cooling pad, and birds chirping outside my window!

6. Who was the last person you hugged?
My parents, when they left for home after visiting for the weekend. ;0;

7. What random song just popped in your head now?

Akanishi Jin's Murasaki, since it's playing on my iPod. Obviously.

8. What did you do today?
Woke up, ate my dad's crepes for breakfast, called my grandparents, went on a nice walk outside, discussed military history with my parents, called into Givology's executive board weekly conference call, ate the lunch my parents prepared, went to the local mall with my parents to redeem a coupon, came back to my apartment and parted with my parents, now doing various things.

9. What was the last text message you receiv
ed?
[info]tinkchick555 being excited about the email I had sent her (with Akanishi Jin's Eternal single for download)...we do music exchanged quite often.

10. What websites do you always visit when you go online?

Gmail, LJ, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, various Jpop/Kpop merchandise hubs.

11. What is your next big planned purchase?
Akanishi Jin's Yellow Gold DVD, Limited Edition Version A. (I'll be pre-ordering it as soon as I get my $5 coupon!)

12. If you could afford to go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
China, Taiwan, Japan, S. Korea, Egypt, India, Germany, France (again), and basically everywhere else in the world I haven't been to yet. :(

13. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I will still probably be in graduate school if not finishing up! After that, hopefully at a research job at a national laboratory like the NIH or NRL or Walter Reed, etc. :D

14. Where's your tattoo/Where would you like a tattoo?
I don't have or want a tattoo, but I wouldn't say no to a couple more ear piercings!

15. What are you doing this weekend?
Next weekend is the start of my AMAZING spring break! I'll be on a train to NYC on Saturday morning and will be there through the next Thursday -- hopefully having fun with my sis and [info]mikarocker !!

16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?
I play violin, piano, and flute already, but I would love to learn cello, guitar, and harp as well as improve my current musical abilities as much as I can.

17. What's the one thing you need the most now?

Motivation.

18. Are you a creeper?
Yes, when it comes to my friends...just ask [info]lalazor15  and [info]jihwans.

19. What is your dream job?

Research at a national laboratory (see question 13).

20. What's the last good movie you saw?
Does re-watching movies count? Flags of Our Fathers and The Heroes of Iwo Jima (documentary). :D

CANNOT WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK, OMGOSH. <3

Second Flag Raising at Iwo Jima, as Photographed by Joe Rosenthal

For a change of pace, I've decided to make a personal entry recounting my wonderful time at home this past weekend. I know that this journal of mine is usually reserved only for fandom stuff, but I thought it would be nice to make more entries detailing interesting happenings in my own life as well. :)

...not to mention that a lot of the activities that my parents and I did together this past weekend actually spawned from watching Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima, movies that I first was interested in thanks to the Arashi fandom, but the feeling really developed into a much deeper interest in the personal, historical, and military perspectives that went beyond anything to do with Nino (as much of a fantastic of an actor that he is). In fact, I just now purchased the original Flags of Our Fathers book by James Bradley off Amazon to read in my spare time...which I hope will give me even more insight into the Battle of Iwo Jima. I'll lend it to my father to read after I'm done. Heh. I highly recommend the movies to anyone who is interested.

Anyways, here is a outline breakdown of the weekend itinerary that my parents and I created and followed through for ourselves:
Friday (02.04.2011):
1. Bus from school to home
2. Homemade Chinese dishes dinner at home
3. The Dark Knight on blu-ray
Saturday (02.05.2011):
1. Pajeon + Earl Grey tea breakfast at home
2. Iwo Jima Memorial (Marine Corps War Memorial) in Arlington, VA
3. National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico, VA
4. Egg rolls and soup linner at home
5. Oliver musical at the Little Theater of Alexandria with my sister's friend's parents
Sunday (02.06.2011):
1. Tangyuan and Niangao breakfast at home, received lucky red envelope money
2. National Firearms Museum in Fairfax, VA (NRA)
3. New Year dumplings at home
4. Resting, then taking a walk around the neighborhood
5. Bus from home to school

**Under the cut you will find more details about the weekend, photos from the different stops along the way, my personal thoughts on several topics, along with any background information that may be useful for a general understanding of historical events, etc., that will be brought up.

I really have no idea how I managed to get these all home in my rather small suitcase, but I'm not questioning it now. Need somewhere to post this list so that everyone can see how psychotic I am. :)

**NOTE: These are not all meant for me to keep; some are for friends, and some are for selling.
